May Farewell Blues

Reformist Mannered Chic

About high time I peeled off the esoteric skin and emerged back as a super-cliche fashion interpreter of my own kind's trend, entitled "intellectual chic stroller in a breezy Summer sunset". Now if you are desperate for setting details, let's pretend she could be returning from a book club meeting after having rejoiced in the analyzing pleasure of postcolonial grandeur from Jean Rhys's Wide Sargasso Sea. She's extra happy that unlike Antoinette Cosway, our heroine is free from the oppresive grasp of patriarchal society and more so because she is able to express her sartorial interests and identity in the most chic and playfully sophisticated manner; while simultaneously subversing the box ticking notions of feminine objectification. Here, here then to the girly girl who reads literature, is able to express her viewpoint about Derridean deconstruction, knows at least twenty post rock bands and at the same time jumps with joy when Lancome issues a new juicy lip gloss flavor.

Topshop in Athens

Hail to thee unscrupulous consumers... Let us all unite in powerful glee 'cause Topshop is within our grasp at Sotris. "Happy happy happy" I exclaim not unlike Mugatu's brainwash conditioning to dim witted Zoolander under the intoxicating influence of "Relax" song. Okay, I admit it! I just jumped to the partay to take photos and right after that, I swiftly run to envelop myself in the soothing and comfortable position of the red couch outside. Surrounded by the binary strength of black n' white poodles, a gingery girly who adamantly grabbed my camera to capture the fun, and thankfully my friend Nileta whose grass green toe nails sent me away to an oasis of creative nuance, I had a blast. A blast I tell you! I even managed to recreate "Blue Steel" pose and all thanks to Topshop in Athens. It'd be a Blackbird

"I don’t have a favorite season. I have a favorite feeling. It’s the windows down, silent back roads with dirty bare feet feeling. It’s when I can walk straight outside without pausing to fish out a jacket. It is curtains dancing around my room because of the cool breeze that pushes against its fabric. It is sunsets after desert and grass as my pillow. The sound of lawnmowers, or falling leaves, and rain against the window. Pockets of shade and walks along a gravel road. I don’t have a favorite season, I have a favorite feeling."

H&M Fall Collection-Event

While we haven't even started our summer vacation yet, fashion rules dictate the seasonal transcendence that comes with drooling over fall and winter collections. You know what a sucker I am for subversive and H&M Fall collection gravitates toward the very aesthetic that evaporates my wallet. Reaping the benefits of minimalism combined with maximal details, sculptured pieces and innovative motives, the collection covers a full range of intricate and eclectic silhouettes. (My own private cherry on top, the Joy Division T-shirt yum yum!)
Let me cut to the chase though: It was more than a press event. What better day to suggest a celebratory day than the H&M five year anniversary in Athens? Anna and Mariza the H&M supergals know how to put smile on our faces: "Photo booth" inspired fun, embellished props, pastel colored macaroons, fresh breath of happy-happy crowd and what not, in the perfect avant-garde setting. Alongside the excitement, my favorite allies, Christina and Filio lit up the night with their presence and in my turn I welcome you to the visual applaud of the event. Clap-clap.
