Nomilk today Giveaway

The first time I laid eyes on nomilktoday designs, a mystic feeling enraptured me. Some years ago, long before I decided to transcend my inhibitions through the cloudline flows. It was a mathematically cloud shaped necklace which I instantly loved and the boyfriend exclaimed: "Hey, that reminds me of a piecewise linear function in two dimensions". I awkwardly smirked at my own ignorance as I consistently do in these mathematical matters and found about Eva instead.
Funny thing is that she admits getting inspiration from geometry. Her clay vitreau-mosaic jewels can be easily perceived as the perfect finite element method to solve a partial differential equation whose smooth manifold flow describes a stylistic view.
Long story short, here’s your chance to receive the optimum solution tool of your personal stylistic equation in the most asymptotically and sartorially stable manner: Pithagoreio ring courtesy of Eva, the artist behind the unique geometrical nomilktoday pieces.

Thou fear not. No mathematical skill needed to take part. Just like here and here and leave an interesting comment with your name.  Best of luck!

This is a Valley of Ashes

In the fantasy fashion land of Spring Summer '12, Etro, Gucci, Dior, Emporio Armani and Ralph Lauren conquered a whole new-old frontier. The late 20s "Great Gatsby" world which came to life with sheer embellished drop-waist dresses, geometric panneling and punctuated neat sets of dapper suits and reformed elegant dynamic.
Amidst moments of self referentiality, I paid the token of the trend years after reading the book in college but by now I know how to avoid lavish pretty-pretty dresses and took the mannish silhouette as a reference point instead. The vintage side of my closet dictated what I did.
I relentlessly grabbed (my?don'thinkso) Chanel twin set, the "easy like a Sunday morning" (thanks Mike Patton) pants, put on (my yes these I own) fake pearls and moonstone necklace token to Coco and pretended I strolled around Long Island's North shore. That didn't work so I just sipped my tea out in the garden and reread the book. Don't you worry! Know that the party breaks up in the best possible way cause I have the perfunctory excerpt ready for you. Enjoy:

"This is a valley of ashes--a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens; where ashes take the forms of houses and chimneys and rising smoke and, finally, with a transcendent effort, of men who move dimly and already crumbling through the powdery air. Occasionally a line of gray cars crawls along an invisible track, gives out a ghastly creak, and comes to rest, and immediately the ash-gray men swarm up with leaden spades and stir up an impenetrable cloud, which screens their obscure operations from your sight."

Glints of Olive Green Flying

"..at the window I watch a man with a power mower the sounds of his doing race like flies and bees on the wallpaper, it is like a warm fire, and better than eating steak, and the grass is green enough and the sun is sun enough and what's left of my life stands there..."

Starburst Nails

Staying in the house in sunny days must lead to creativity in some way. That's basically how I got into reading my favorite blogs such as lemoncakewardrobe and got inspired in trying the water marble nails idea. Well, the result mounted to a major waste of polish and a rather stressful procedure so I quickly grabbed the bottle of nail polish remover, sat down in decisive spirit and found out about the how to create a stellar-milky way look instead. It was pretty fun and kindergarten easy. You have to try it. No interstellar gas and dust involved, just sponge, nail polish and the galaxy is on your fingertips!

Glow for it

Uncomplicated silhouettes mixed with classic elegance are a "walking concept" for me. In literature the concept serves as a special form whose function is to represent and proclaim a specific philosophical idea, common in didactic fictions or subordinate roles in mimetic fictions. In the same way the concept helps me establish my own rules governed by minimalism. Now,  there are always exceptions to our self-proclaimed rules and I found the perfect day to sport the glam flashing blade side of elegance. If that's what you call it. Relying on the wow factor, the blue sequined skirt worn as a strapless top marked the suitably regal side of me as I dressed up just to exercise my vanity around the block of my house. That's another regal moment of me to admit such a petty truth. Looking back at the pictures now, it seems a flicker away from insanity.

Sea Change

Today's sunny narrative author was not me. Tom Petty helped out with his multi-instrumental endowment. Driving through the sea side roads and the blooming ice plants, his voice wrote the story:

"Into the great wide open under them skies of blue out in the great wide open a rebel without a clue."  Who needs an epilogue when Tom said it all. The sky was the limit.
