After some years of hiatus in the "eating right" front, I have recently decided to take the hard road against my carb-filled diet. Thus, farewell donuts and buttery croissants, cheese pies and peanut butter chocolate brownies. There's the extra bright side though: Hello skinnier jeans, flat stomach and protruding cheekbones. Nevertheless, I still bake. This is something I just can't give up to the protein fascist. He'll just shut up and let me do my thing (ugly male personification for willpower). You see it's a win-win situation as he takes the perverted joy in inspecting me exercise my emancipation while mixing up light flowy frosting in disengagement from the natural spoonful test. So now in order to solidify another in your face moment against the protein dictator, I'll jam the screen with my latest fresh strawberry mint cupcakes. Feast your eyes. Your eyes only I tell you. Summer is coming and I need beach competition.

I could eat the half plater and a few minutes later I would panic search for the perfect fat burning/ calorie blasting/ body-sculpting workout :p

Cupcakes are delicious, filled with all things nice,
Butter filled sponges, they're everybody's vice
Flour and castor sugar, beat it in a bowl,
Add the eggs and colour, then cream in the hole,
Butterfly's, vanilla, keep the oven hot
Fill the pastry cases, then sprinkle things on top.
Great for kid's lunches, and afternoon tea
Just keep the cupcakes coming, but save some for me.
If I were a baker, I'd make them on my own
Until I learn to make them, there's one person I’d phone
