I could honestly write an essay on the beauty and
exceptional grandeur of simplicity and minimalism. "Reduction" is
something that used to resonate as boring or even snob to my own ears. I
remember when I was a practically a child in the early 90's (in the initial
emergence of minimalism in fashion) that it was described as
"anti-fashion". However, as one travels through ostentatious experimentation
and high "a la mode" practices, can only develop and grow to embrace
the beauty in high construction, tailoring and understatement as
opposed to flamboyant or overdesigned pieces. Inventiveness and beauty can be
found in inherent purity and this is evident in nature itself. Minimalism
thriving in form and content of all things around us: The vastness of the blue
sky, the air through the clouds, the form of the leaves. Intricate but oh so
lucid and quiet. Yet, ever-present and limitless. "Less is more" an
aesthetic tactic of arranging complicated components to create an illusion of simplicity.
That is art. Art is fashion and quality more meaningful than quantity.

Truly very beautifully written my dearest! You've captured the beauty of simplicity and minimalism oh so well and pieces you have chosen all show us classic and modern minimalism at its finest! :)
Take care sweetie,Daniella xox
Amazing sunglasses!
You described minimalism so well, especially when you said that it creates the illusion of simplicity. Less is more has always been a dear fashion rule, and Ms. Philo masters this art (that Celine bag is one of my favourites!).
Eleni, the first picture of your previous post was simply stunning: the light, the silhouette of your outfit, everything was perfect!
I want them ALL , I wan hem NOW !!! Great selection dear Eleni . I must pick one as my favorite and The One is: Chloe white sandals!
Great post! My eye is firmly on the Acne sunglasses and that powder blue bag! Now that you've mentioned growing up in the nineties, it's got me thinking that the minimalist tendency around at the time really might have a bearing on those growing up during that time. It certainly influenced me in favouring this trend having also grown up in the nineties, it certainly has cemented it's place in timeless fashion history! xxx
Indeed, this post is so true. There have always been two major schools in that respect, minimalist and maximalism, and quite a few trends in between that have often been discussed. Personally, I don't endorse either extreme, I think we should always be comfortable with a style, to make it our own, even if that means a lot of improvising. There can be as many styles as there are people!
Such an interesting selection, all the pieces would look amazing on you without a doubt! If only we were rich, right? ;)
Hope you had a great weekend love!
XO
I absolutely agree with you! Fashion is art which creates an illusion of something we want or we made want.
Though I'm a big accessories fan which automatically kicks me out of minimalistic group, I more than often face the truth that less is more!
